The Hoops came out on top against an impressive home team in very entertaining game of soccer which was played throughout in a
very sporting manner. Despite missing several key players due to injuries Kilmallock took an early lead through
Eileen Connery who displayed terrific speed to latch on to a loose ball in the penalty area to rifle home the opening goal.
With 10 minutes to the break Claudia Hudner set off a trademark run and calmly slotted the ball home into the bottom corner to put the visitors two up.
However, Celtic fought back and scored a cracking long range effort to leave the game finely balanced.
It was nip and tuck in the second half with chances hard to come by. With 5 minutes left on the clock Catherine Coleman got
her reward for her hard work when she neatly slotted home following good approach play from Jenny Clery and Sandra Gammell.
Best on the night for the hoops were the defensive team of Aedin Hayes, Aisling Ryan, Genille Conway and Sinead Hayes who denied the hosts
time after time from getting shots in on goal.
