The visitors got off to a brilliant start and took the lead after just two minutes play
following a flowing move which ended with their right winger firing an unstoppable shot past
the hoops goalkeeper Lisa Kelly. Bilboa remained on top for the next twenty minutes but
couldn't make their dominace of possession count and they paid the penalty when Aisling
Ryan equalised for the hosts with an outstanding freekick from all of 25 yards.
Five minutes later the same player was involved as she set up Claudia Hudner to fire home following a bout
of hoops pressure.
Bilboa came on strong again in the second period and Lisa Kelly in goal made some
telling saves none more so than her penalty save in the 75th minute when she
tipped a powerfully struck shot onto the post and out to safety.
This was a key moment in the game and shortly after the points were made safe for the hoops
when the pacy Vicky McMahon broke free on the edge of the box and skilfully lobbed the
keeper for a spectacular goal.
