Saturday 24th April was finals day for the LWSSL U12 Schoolgirls Futsal competition.
A total of nine teams took part in the futsal tournament over a 5 weeks period.
The clubs involved were Regional, Coonagh, Moyross, Bilboa, Corbally and Aisling Annacotty.
The event was a huge success, especially when you take into consideration that it was the first of its kind in Limerick since the revival of
the girl’s underage section of the LWSSL in January 2009 and many of the players involved had never played futsal before.
The competition culminated with two winners.
Aisling Annacotty fought hard against Corbally to win the Cup 1-0. The shield was battled out by the two Regional teams.
The Red Regional team came out the eventual winners. Great fun was had by all.
