Aisling Annacotty`s Intermediate team travelled to Nenagh to take on Sallypark.
They hoped to quickly eliminate memory of their recent National Cup exit after extra-time penalties to Cup favourites,
Kilmacrennan of Donegal. Aisling last won this Munster trophy in 2007 before moving up to Senior ranks and
hope this year to defend the trophy with their young enthusiastic developing squad.
Aisling quickly settled with Vickie Reynolds scoring after 5 minutes. This was followed by a well
worked goal by Catherine Cronin after terrific approach play involving Clodagh Dunworth and Vickie Reynolds.
Fiona Hayes drove home a powerful 25 yard shot before the dynamic Fiona Moloney went on a free scoring
consecutive 4 goal mission.
This was an outstanding demonstration of emphatic goal scoring ability from the new arrival.
For Sallypark, Niamh Hogan got just reward for her tireless energy with a deserved goal 10 minutes from time.
However Linda Treacy finished the scoring in spectacular fashion with an unstoppable 30
yard cross-field volley.
Best for Sallypark were Joanne O`Brien, Noreen Treacy and Niamh Hogan.
For Aisling, Nicole Cronin and Aoife Mooney were instrumental in creating the goal scoring opportunities for success.
