Season Update

This past week has been a busy week for the senior Ladies Limerick Soccer clubs with the local LWSSL league and cups down to the final stages.

Lifford are looking strong favourites for the Division 1 title while the Div. 1 Cup final will be between Murroe and the winners of Aisling Annacotty vs Listowel – although Aisling Annacotty are now favourites Murroe will fancy their chances having already put out the Division 1 League winners Lifford in the quarter final.

In Division 2 the League split into two groups after the round 1 matches with the Mid Western Health Board running out winners of Division 2A.
Division 2B is down to a winner takes all clash between Herbertstown & Celtic A who are both equal on points going into the last league game.
The Division 2 Cup Final will be contested by the already qualified finalists Bilboa and the winners of the opposite semi-final Celtic A vs Herbertstown with Bilboa edging in as slight favourites.

The Open Cup is also nearing completion with Aisling Annacotty awaiting the result of the Murroe vs Lifford semi-final.

Presently the Limerick clubs are also competing in the Munster Cups which are now mostly down to the Semi final stages.
The Senior Cup Semi finals are Aisling Annacotty v Wilton or Limerick Desmond & Limerick FC v Cork League so here’s hoping to an all Limerick Final between last season’s winners Aisling Annacotty and Limerick FC.
The intermediate Cup sees Abbeyfeale away to Douglas Hall and the second semi final between the Winners of Killenaule or Nenagh vs Tipperary or Aisling Annacotty.
The Junior Cup is also down to the final stages with Riverstown or Newtown taking on Shinrone in the first semi final and Listowel up against Tramore in the second semi final so again an all Limerick Final is in prospect.
